I had to move my Audigy 2 to get it to work properly. It didn't bother my 9700 that I'm aware of, but there were issues with the sound from the Audigy 2. I moved it to the third PCI slot away from the AGP slot (based on a recommendation I found somewhere in a search for solutions), and all worked fine after that.

I run SuSE 8.2 Pro on a MSI AMD 761 based motherboard with an Audigy 2 Platinum. I have never managed to get any sound form the outputs on the actual PCI card, in the head phone output on the drive bay. I had the same problem with SuSE 8.2 live eval (RC2).
